Set against the mountainous backdrop of Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima, the PKY project is a vacation retreat situated on a generous two-rai plot. Despite the expansive site, the architectural footprint is intentionally kept compact at its center, maximizing the preservation of the surrounding natural landscape.
Originally conceived as a two-bedroom villa with a semi-outdoor central hall, the intervention involved a complete spatial reconfiguration that respects the existing architectural volume. The revised interior program now encompasses a master suite, a secondary guest room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a rooftop terrace.
The material palette emphasizes a tactile and earthy aesthetic, utilizing exposed brick, timber flooring, rendered walls, and Spanish-style ceramic tiles. To ensure visual purity without compromising modern functionality, mechanical services—including concealed air-conditioning systems—are seamlessly integrated into the interior architecture, delivering a comfortable retreat that remains quietly attuned to its natural setting.
