PPP Residence originated from a family’s need to expand their existing home onto an adjacent 260-square-wa plot. Tasked with accommodating a massive 1,700-square-metre program,
comprising two primary houses and a guest pavilion—our core challenge was not merely fitting the footprint. Rather, it was orchestrating a spatial logic that ensures abundant daylight and a breathable atmosphere, carving out dedicated reception spaces while giving each family member absolute privacy without inducing a sense of overcrowding.
To resolve this dense programmatic requirement, we adopted a courtyard typology, pushing the three building masses outward against the site boundaries, to maximizes the central open void, transforming it into a lush green lung and swimming pool that serves as a shared visual anchor for all structures. Each functional zone was meticulously oriented in response to the sun's trajectory and natural wind paths, ensuring the communal core remains comfortably shaded and optimally lit throughout the day.

To weave the independent structures together, we introduced a covered ramp walkway that threads seamlessly alongside the landscape and water features. This architectural promenade facilitates continuous, fluid movement between the multi-generational spaces. Simultaneously, the orchestrated rhythm of these pathways and green buffers acts as a soft spatial boundary, cleanly delineating the public entertaining pavilions from the private residential quarters.
Architecturally, positioning large, tall building masses in close proximity often creates a compressed atmosphere within the courtyard space. We counteracted this by fragmenting the mass into multiple volumes and introducing softer lines through building masses like rounded corner columns and curved window frames. A recessed top-floor 'crown' and deep cantilevered canopies further scale down the architecture, maintaining privacy while making the buildings feel lighter and more approachable.

Clad in warm natural stone and accented with custom cast-metal louvers, bas-relief walls, and timber-lined eaves, these refined details dissolve the sheer density of the project, transforming it into a graceful and welcoming family compound.
