Besides client's requirements, the context of the site often plays a significant role in shaping architectural design. "P House" is one such example. Located on a sprawling large plot in Nakhon Pathom, this single-story garden home embodies the owner's affinity for the Modern English Farmhouse style. To align with the expansive landscape, the design adopts a single-story layout, blending seamlessly with the surroundings to evoke the cozy charm of a true European farmhouse. The house plan also draws inspiration from the traditional English Farmhouse typology, with overlapping gabled roofs cascading in a stepped formation. The structure is oriented along a north-south axis, optimizing natural ventilation and minimizing solar heat gain. This arrangement also positions the home to align with the main approach, enhancing its entrance visual harmony with the site. To maintain proportion and control construction costs, the garage is designed as a detached structure. Inside, the layout is divided into two wings. East wing houses private spaces, including bedrooms, while the South wing accommodates communal areas, such as the living room, dining space, and an expansive terrace. With a total usable area of approximately 300 square meters, the spaces are designed to be functional yet compact, avoiding unnecessary scale. P House offers a distinct sense of retreat compared to conventional homes. Its architectural rhythm, internal layout, and contextual integration reflect a serene, farmhouse-inspired garden living experience, embodying the timeless essence of an English Farmhouse.
