Set amidst the hilly landscapes of Phang Nga, this expansive site was chosen to create more than just a house by the garden—the homeowner envisioned a sanctuary nestled within the trees, seamlessly integrated with nature. The design captures the site’s best views on the East side while creating a profound connection with its surroundings. The house is defined by a clean geometric form and an elegant, cantilevered roof that enhances its lightness and openness. This slender canopy visually floats above, seamlessly integrating the home with the landscape while maintaining its distinct architectural presence. In the main living area, boundaries between indoors and outdoors dissolve. Glass walls replace traditional enclosures, making the space feel like an open pavilion protected only by the weightless roof above. From the outside, the living room appears to flow into the surroundings, framed by a solid wood wall at the back and flanked by stone-clad volumes on the South side. Concealed columns along the glass façade add to the illusion of a hovering roof. Elevated a meter above the ground, the house commands attention while blending into the natural terrain. A 12-meter infinity-edge pool extends in front of the panoramic windows, visually merging with the landscape and reflecting the view back toward the adjacent sleeping areas. The 4-meter cantilevered roof provides natural shading from late morning to afternoon, ensuring the living spaces remain bright yet cool throughout the day. Every element of the design works in harmony to create a serene retreat that feels effortlessly connected to its natural surroundings—an architectural expression of tranquility and balance within the forested hills of Phang Nga.
